Hot Tapping

Hot Tapping is a specialized method that allows new branch connections to be made on live pipelines, tanks, or vessels — without interrupting the flow of oil, gas, water, or other process fluids. This technique enables plant modifications, repairs, and expansions while maintaining continuous operation and minimizing downtime.

Capabilities:

  • Size Range: ½ inch to 80 inch

  • Pressure Rating: Up to #600 Class

  • Operating Temperature: Up to 280°C

Types of Hot Tapping:

  • Size-on-Size Tap – For branch connections of equal diameter to the main line

  • Angle Tap – For tapping at customized angles

  • Tank Tap – For tapping on storage tanks or vessels

  • Elbow Tap – For tapping on curved or elbow sections of pipelines

  • 3-Way Tee Tapping – For multi-directional connections and rerouting

Applications:

  • Pipeline modifications and tie-ins
